The chosen design depicts the Northern spectacled salamander (Salamandrina perspicillata), one of only two species in its endemic Italian genus. Named for the striking “spectacles” around its eyes, this elusive amphibian serves as an indicator of pristine environments. It is shown performing an antipredator behavior, arching its body and coiling its tail to expose its bright ventral warning coloration, considered aposematic.

The silhouette of the Mole Antonelliana—Turin’s most iconic architectural landmark—rises against the backdrop of the majestic mountains that define Italy’s landscape, framed by blooming snowdrops.

Hand drawing by MSc student Samuele Torta blends with regional and symbolic elements to reflect the spirit of both the conference and its host city.
